Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu

   Ni Hao (Hello). Welcome to our 5-day private Chengdu Jiuzhaigou tour! Upon your arrival at Chengdu airport/train station, a local driver will pick you up from the exit gate and drive you to the downtown hotel for check-in.

   Note: If you land at Tianfu Airport, the transfer fare will be higher than Shuangliu Airport.

2. Day 2: Chengdu City Highlights Tour
   See Giant Pandas & Ancient Relics, Relax in Park, Sample Local Snacks

   Today your tour guide picks you up from the hotel lobby and brings you to your first highlight of your trip, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. The base holds over two hundred and forty giant pandas (data as of 2024), where they rest and breed. It is now the world's largest artificial breeding center for pandas. There are beautiful spots designed for the pandas where they can sleep, play, and eat their yummy bamboo. The panda museum has interactive experiences where guests can learn about the survival status of the panda species population. With a bit of luck, you might also see little panda babies.

   

   In the afternoon, go to visit the Jinsha Site Museum, where there are thousands of cultural relics dating back to three thousand years ago. Appreciate precious cultural relics such as the golden sun bird disc, golden mask, bronze standing figure, and learn about the stories behind them.

   Continue to the busy People's Park, a place for locals to relax. Have a cup of tea in a tea house (at your own expense), catch a glimpse of the slow paced life in Chengdu, and watch the locals play Tai Chi, Mahjong, and dance. Finally, explore the bustling Kuanzhai Alley. There are Qing Dynasty style buildings and various Chengdu snacks and souvenirs.

3. Day 3: Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou by High-speed Train
   Explore Colorful Ponds and Ancient Temple

   Take the bullet train in the morning from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. After reaching the destination, a local guide who speaks English will be there at the station with a welcome board.

   Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Scenic Area is the only well-preserved plateau wetland in the country. It covers an area of roughly 700 square kilometers and has more than 3,000 ponds with variated colors and unique surfaces shaped through calcarious formation.

   Your tour guide will take you to the cable car, which will allow you to see breathtaking views of all of Yellow Dragon while riding up. When you start walking along the boardwalk, the first stunning sight is the Guest Welcome Pond, which is known for its wonderful, clear water and surrounded by greenery.

   Five-colored Pond, known for its vibrant colors, is one of the core attractions of Huanglong Scenic Area. Under the sunlight, the water shimmers like a carefully crafted palette of nature. We will stay here for about 40 minutes to 1 hour so you can take many amazing photos.

   

   In the afternoon, be guided to visit other highlighted attractions: Huanglong Ancient Temple (Tibetan Buddhism) and Golden Sands Floor. After the sightseeing, hike down the mountain. You will be escorted to the hotel to rest.

4. Day 4: Jiuzhai Valley Tour
   Admire the Seasonal Landscapes and Beautiful Waterfalls

   Another highlight of this Chengdu tour is Jiuzhaigou Valley, where the scenery varies throughout the four seasons, with the colorful autumn being the most beautiful. It is a paradise for photographers.

   Upon arriving, take a battery car to Rize Valley (日则沟), the essence of Jiuzhaigou. Here, Pearl Shoal Waterfall, featuring its splashing water, is one of the filming locations for the famous Journey to the West. Five-Flower Lake boasts the colorful and sparkling water. Nuorilang Waterfall, with a width of 270 meters, is one of the largest plateau calcareous waterfalls in China.

   

   Next, go to Zechawa Valley (则查洼沟). Two of the most popular attractions are Changhai (Long Lake) and Wucaichi (Five-color Lake). Changhai is the largest lake in Jiuzhaigou with an "S" - shaped surface. Wucaichi features varied colors of water, which shows different colors at different angles and light.

   In the late afternoon, visit Shuzheng Valley (树正沟), where you can see the smallest of the four main waterfalls in Jiuzhaigou - Shuzheng Waterfall and unique landform and vegetation landscape at Bonsai Shoal. After all visits, return to the hotel.

5. Day 5: Jiuzhaigou Departure

   Free and easy on your own until the pick-up time for departure. Your driver will meet you at the hotel lobby and transfer to the airport to see you off. The 5 days Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou tour ends here. Hope you had a wonderful time with us!
