Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Zhangjiajie

   Upon your arrival at Zhangjiajie airport / train station, your local driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board "China Xian Tour" and send you by a private, non-smoking car to the Wulingyuan Area hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you.

2. Day 2: Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge Tour
   Walk Across the Longest Glass Bridge in the World

   Meet your private Zhangjiajie tour guide in the hotel lobby. Start your adventure in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It is the first national park in China with a forest coverage rate of 97.7%. Arriving at the scenic area, the guide will take you on a cable car to Yellow Stone Village (at an altitude of over 1200 meters). It is the best and largest observation deck overlooking the vast sandstone peak forest in Zhangjiajie. Take a breath of fresh air and stroll around some of the most famous attractions in the scenic area, such as the Six Wonders Pavilion, the Magical Needle of Sea Peak, and the Star Picking Stand.

   

   Leave the park after the visit. Continue driving to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. The valley is lush with vegetation and the air is pretty fresh; A thin mist permeates the stream, like a fairyland. Here you will challenge yourself to walk on the world's highest and longest transparent glass bridge. The bridge spans the Grand Canyon, about 400 meters above the valley bottom, with a length of about 370 meters. From a distance, the tourists on the bridge seem to be walking in the air. Next are some relaxing explorations in the canyon (about 1.5 to 2 hours).

   After the tour, you will be transferred back to the hotel to rest well.

3. Day 3: Zhangjiajie Avatar Tour
   Explore the Tianzi Mountain’s Misty Peaks

   Today you will be guided to explore more highlights of Wulingyuan. Leave the morning time for Yuanjiajie. After entering the scenic area, the guide will take you to experience the world's tallest outdoor elevator - the Bailong Elevator. It only takes 66 seconds to reach the summit from the bottom of the valley. How incredible! Afterwards, visit some major attractions such as the First Bridge in the World, a natural stone bridge located between two mountains; The South Sky Column, with a vertical height of about 150 meters, is the prototype of Mount Hallelujah in Avatar; And the Enchantment Platform.

   

   Afterwards, be transferred to visit Tianzi Mountain. As the saying goes: If you don't visit Tianzi Mountain, you've missed the essence of Wulingyuan. The landscapes here are entirely natural, without artificial carving. Clouds and mist are the most common wonders. In addition, the spot also features moonlit nights, sunrises, and winter snowscapes. Highlights include Sky Garden, Imperial Brush Peak, and Commanding Generals Deck. After the visit, take the cable car down the mountain. The driver will escort you to the hotel in the city for check-in.

4. Day 4: Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang Tour
   Admire Stalagmites and Boat Underground River

   In the morning, follow your guide to explore the fantastic Yellow Dragon Cave. The cave is praised as "all-round champion" by domestic and foreign geological authorities because it boasts the most complete and beautiful cave landscape with the largest scale. You will appreciate the pointing stalagmites, take a boat to explore the deep underground river (the river is rich with second-class state-protected giant salamanders and translucent glass fish), and see the great stone fall and interesting stone monkeys of various shapes.

   Say goodbye to Zhangjiajie and drive for 4 hours to Fenghuang Ancient Town for an overnight stay.

5. Day 5: Fenghuang to Changsha Tour
   Enjoy a Relaxing Boat Tour on the Tuojiang River

   The Tuojiang River flows through Fenghuang Ancient Town which is rich in historical charm and ethnic customs. Once breakfast ends you will take a boat led by your guide for a ride through the Tuojiang River.

   The riverbanks feature Diaojiao buildings which are traditional homes for ethnic minorities including the Miao, Buyi, Dong, and Tujia and are arranged in complex patterns. These floating houses rest on wooden pillars while showing the historical transformations experienced by the old city.

   

   As the boat advances at a slow pace you can see the town's important Wanming Pagoda landmark. The Hongqiao Bridge links the two sides of the ancient city across the Tuojiao River. The structure situated on the bridge displays both quaint charm and elegance. The second floor offers an expansive view of the ancient town.

   Tuojiang Jumping Rock represents an essential sightseeing spot in Fenghuang Ancient City. It is composed of rows of rock pillars and people can walk across the Tuojiang River by stepping on the rocks.

   After your tour in Fenghuang, we drive from Fenghuang to Changsha City which takes 5 hours. The evening provides the opportunity to experience Changsha's nightlife through tasting its famous local snacks.

6. Day 6: Changsha Departure
   Marvel at 2,000-Year-Old Corpse and Xiangjiang Landscape

   Today you will visit the highlight sites in Changsha city. The first stop is the Hunan Museum. The legendary exhibition housed in this museum will be remarkable: the female corpse unearthed in the Mawangdui Han Tomb, a record-breaking discovery in the world's embalming. It's an awe-inspiring miracle in the history of archaeology that her body has been unprecedented for more than 2000 years! Moreover, about 180 thousand cultural relics are collected in Hunan Museum, including bronzes, chinaware, calligraphy and painting, art wares, and so on. It's definitely a wow moment during today's trip.

   Next, continue your visit to Orange Island Park, a beautiful alluvial shoal in the center of the Xiangjiang River. Chairman Mao depicted splendid scenes of Orange Island and Xiangjiang River in his poem, attracting endless visitors.

   

   Afterward, come to Yuelu Academy. Lying in the campus of Hunan University, it is one of the "Four Great Academies" in China with its birth dating back to 976 AD, Song Dynasty and later surviving in the successive Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty, and until today.

   It's not a dead place of relics, it's a live spring feeding numerous students and scholars with their great thoughts.
