Proceed southward from Taipei, passing through Tainan, Kaohsiung, Kenting, and finally Taitung, before making your way back to Taipei. Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Taipei
Welcome to Taipei, the capital of Taiwan Province. Your driver will pick you up at Taipei Songshan Airport. Then he/she will escort you to your selected hotel. The rest of the day is free for you at leisure.
It is recommended that you take a walk through the bustling streets of Ximending. If you are interested and still have energy, you can visit Longshan Temple, which is a very famous ancient temple in Taiwan. You will see numerous exquisite sculptures of gods and Buddhas in Chinese mythology here.

Wander through the bustling streets of Ximending - Day 2: Taipei TourTake a Boat Trip on the Peaceful Sun Moon Lake
After breakfast, your guided Taiwan tour in China will drive you to Sun Moon Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in Taiwan. During the 3.5-hour car ride, the tour guide will share some facts about the areas along the way with you.
Sun Moon Lake was selected as one of the eight major scenic spots in Taiwan as early as the Qing Dynasty. There are six parks in the scenic area, including six themes: landscape, nature, peacocks and butterflies, waterbirds, and religion.
Sun Moon Lake After arriving at Sun Moon Lake, you will be amazed by the natural beauty in front of you. The guide will lead you to board a small boat across the peaceful waters. The next attraction on your Taipei tour is Wenwu Temple, located on the mountainside north of Sun Moon Lake. Built in 1932, it worships Guanyu, Confucius and Yue Fei. The temple is golden in color, and visitors can hike up 366 stone steps to reach it.

- Day 3: Tainan and Kaohsiung TourLearn about Historical Changes of Tainan for 300 Years
In the morning, we drive south for 3.5 hours to Tainan, the oldest city of Taiwan. Upon arrival, go to visit Chikan Tower, which witnesses Tainan's historical changes for over 300 years. It is an outdoor museum with a Dutch-style castle and Chinese architectural style. Then, pay a visit to Chimei Museum, which is a paradise for art lovers. You can enjoy collections of musical instruments, weapons, animal specimens, fossils, and ancient Greek sculptures.
Chikan Tower After that, continue our 9-day Taiwan tour to Kaohsiung. Your guide may tell you stories about the region. In the evening, stroll around the Liuhe Night Market, the second largest night market in Taiwan, open from 6 pm to 2 am. With a length of 380 meters and 170 stalls, you can find a great variety of snacks such as steak, steamed shrimp, stinky tofu, and seafood congee.

- Day 4: Kaohsiung to Kenting TourExplore Forests, Lighthouse, and Unique Coastal Landscapes
This morning we continue heading south towards Hengchun to explore Kenting National Park. The entire journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. Along the way, your tour guide will give you a brief introduction to the park and our itinerary.
Covering an area of 466.8 hectares, Kenting Forest Park is one of the top ten tropical botanical gardens in the world, with nearly 1,000 species, attracting over four million visitors annually to experience the beauty of nature. Upon arrival, explore the lush forests, clear waters, and coral reef rocks.
Kenting National Park Visit the white Eluanbi Lighthouse, which sits on the edge of the coast and is over a hundred years old. It was once considered the southernmost symbol of Taiwan (not anymore). Climb to the top of the lighthouse and you can enjoy a panoramic view of the vast ocean. If you are lucky, you might see schools of whales playing in the sea. Afterwards, transfer you to Maobitou Park (Cat Nose). Due to long time wave erosion, it has formed reef pillars, caves and other peculiar landscapes. After the visit, drive to Kenting for an overnight stay.

- Day 5: Kenting to Taitung TourRelax on the Scenic Beach and Be Amazed by Rock Formations
Today's Taiwan tour starts in Nanwan, originally a small fishing village. Nanwan is also known as Blue Bay because of its clear blue water. With a soft beach length of about 600 meters, it is the widest beach in Kenting Park. It was listed as one of the eight scenic spots of Hengchun in the early years for its Golden Sands and White Waves. And now it has become the home base for popular water activities.
Enjoy yourself at Nanwan After the beach tour, proceed to Taitung. On the way, make a stop at Duoliang Station overlooking the sea and the spectacular railroad bridge. Continue to Xiaoyeliu, famous for its oddly shaped rocks. Besides enjoying the beautiful scenery, tourists can pay extra to try some water activities such as kayaking, surfboarding, scuba diving, and sea fishing.
Nearly approaching Taitung, we visit Taitung Forest Park, a very popular local attraction. Here you can enjoy the sea, take a walk, watch the sunset... After many maintenance and improvement, the park has good facilities and a strong artistic atmosphere.

Taitung Forest Park - Day 6: Taitung to Hualien TourExplore Popular Coffee Location, Lunchbox Museum, Historic Forest Park
After breakfast, you will be taken to Mr. Brown Avenue, popular for being the location of the BROWN Coffee commercials. Afterward, transfer to visit the Chishang Lunchbox Museum, established in 2002. Outside the museum are two train restaurants, and a station-style outdoor dining area. You can learn about Chishang Lunchbox's origins with the train from your guide.
Mr. Brown Avenue Before arriving in Hualien, visit Taiwan's fourth largest forest, Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park, which is the most complete and distinctive logging base left in Taiwan.

- Day 7: Taroko National Park AdventureStroll on Rocky Beach, Explore Canyons, Cliffs, and Unique Caves
After breakfast, stroll along Qixingtan and get in touch with nature. The coastline stretches for more than 20 kilometers, and the width of the beach is around 100 meters most of which are gravel beaches, making Qixingtan the best place to pick up rocks in the outskirts of Hualien.
Qixingtan Afterwards, we explore Taroko National Park, featuring canyons and cliffs. Take a walk along the Shakadang Trail and see various flora and fauna in the park. The cliffs have been dissolved by the action of running water into many small holes and the clever swallows have made their nests in these small holes, which is the origin of Swallow Cave. Later, with the noisy sounds on the highway in the park, the swallows have already left the nest and found another place to live.
After the tour, your guide will accompany you on the 2.5-hour train ride back to Taipei. Upon arrival, a local driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.

Taroko National Park - Day 8: Taipei Culture TourMarvel at Grand Museum, Historic Temple, Memorial Hall
Today's trip in Taipei takes you to the Taipei Palace Museum. As one of the three major museums in China, it is a palace style building designed after the Forbidden City in Beijing. The main building of the museum has four floors, and on the second floor, you can see calligraphy and painting, bronze ware, porcelain, and cultural relics unearthed from tombs; On the third floor are jade artifacts, carvings, steles, embroidery, etc; Watch various special exhibitions on the fourth floor. In addition, you will also see ancient oracle bone fragments, Chinese coins from various dynasties, and exquisite enamel ware.
Next is the Bao'an Temple, a local center of faith and the most important temple in northern Taiwan for over 200 years. Admire the vibrant colors on the intricate sculptures.
Taipei National Palace Museum Afterwards, head to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, a 75,000-square-meter building in the heart of Taipei City. You will learn about Chiang Kai Shek's life and view the items he used. Finally, ascend Taipei 101's observation deck for a panoramic view of the city.

Taipei 101 - Day 9: Departure from Taipei
Enjoy your morning at leisure. You can do some last-minute exploration or shopping in Taipei. Later, your driver will escort you to take a flight to your next destination or home. The 9-day China tour in Taiwan ends here. Safe travels!
