Yunnan Jingmai Mountain - Day 2: Jingmai Mountain Culture and Nature TourWitness the Spectacular Sunrise and Sea of Clouds, Visit a Local Tea Planting Village
One of the features of Jingmai Mountain is sunrise and sea of clouds. Get up early and head to Golden Pagoda to witness the spectacular sunrise scenery. In the morning, when the first ray of sunshine falls on the tea mountain, the entire village is enveloped by golden sunlight. This marks a good start of your Jingmai Mountain tour in Yunnan.
After that, return to your guesthouse for breakfast. Taking a short break, we then drive to an observation deck not far from Dazhai Village. This is the best view to admire the sea of clouds. The mountain is shrouded in a sea of clouds; In the distance, the village was faintly visible in the mist, and together they created a fairyland.
Jingmai Mountain Sea of Clouds Next, be guided to Nuogang Ancient Village. This village is named after the Dai language word for "place where deer drink water". This used to be the habitat of wild deer, hence its name. Nuogang Ancient Village is not large in scale, with only over 100 households, but it has a long history and still retains the tradition of matrilineal society to this day. The status of women is particularly important here. Located deep in Jingmai Mountain, at an altitude of about 1500 meters, Nuogang Ancient Village is very suitable for the growth of tea trees. Therefore, people here make a living by growing and picking tea.
If you are interested, we can take you to visit a local tea house and taste a cup of authentic Pu'er tea (optional, at your own expense).
This is the end of your today's tour of Jingmai Mountain. Tonight, still stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

Nuogang Village in Jingmai Mountain - Day 3: Jingmai Mountain Tea Tour, DepartureLearn about Original Bulang Culture and Stroll among the Tea Forest
Wake up early and enjoy the beautiful sunrise at Wengji Village. At an altitude of about 1350 meters, Wengji Village has a history of over a thousand years and about 90 households. It has beautiful natural scenery and distinctive ethnic characteristics, maintaining the original Bulang culture and primitive lifestyle. The village is well suited for agricultural production, especially tea cultivation.
Tea is the main source of local economy, and villagers have lived a relatively affluent life by planting, picking, and selling tea through the Tea Horse Ancient Road. In recent years, Wengji Village has received multiple honors - it has been named one of the 200 Ethnic Characteristic Tourism Villages in Yunnan Province and was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2016.
Bulang Culture of Wengji Village Afterward, follow your guide deep into Dapingzhang Old Tea Forest, the only open ancient tea forest in Jingmai Village, named after its flat terrain and resemblance to a human palm. Entering its core area, you will see tea trees that are 2-5 meters high, and even ancient tea trees that are close to 12 meters high. There are not only tea trees in the tea forest, but also osmanthus trees, camphor trees, and so on. Huge camphor trees cover the top, with tea trees at the bottom. The fallen leaves provide organic fertilizer for the tea trees, and the diversity of flora and fauna reduces the pests and diseases of the tea trees. Therefore, the tea trees here are well protected by the forest. Enjoy walking in the tea forest and learning more about it.
After the tour, we descend Jingmai Mountain and you will be transferred to Pu'er City or Xishuangbanna City to catch your departure flight or train. Your 3-day Yunnan Jingmai Mountain tour comes to a perfect end!
